Wellness Center and Classroom Buildings

Project Overview

SGH Architects partnered with San Bernardino City Unified School District to deliver a transformative project at Sierra High School: the construction of a new Wellness Center and Classroom Building. The new Wellness Center is designed to serve as more than just a school facility - it is a community asset. By providing minor health services in an accessible location, the Center extends its impact beyond students to families and neighbors in the San Bernardino area. The building represents the District’s commitment to supporting the whole child by prioritizing physical, mental, and emotional well-being alongside academic success.

A New Space for Growth

The project began with the removal of six aging modular buildings and outdated asphalt paving, clearing the way for two new permanent structures that strengthen both the campus environment and its connection to the surrounding community.

The adjacent Classroom Building replaces older, outdated learning spaces with modern, flexible environments. Designed to adapt to Sierra High School’s diverse educational programs, the new classrooms promote collaboration, active learning, and future-ready instruction.

With durable finishes, abundant natural light, and adaptable layouts, the building sets a new standard for the quality of learning environments on campus.

A Vision for Student Success

Together, the Wellness Center and Classroom Building redefine the heart of Sierra High School. Complemented by a reconfigured parking lot and new fencing, the project enhances safety, accessibility, and campus identity.

By investing in both health and education, San Bernardino City Unified School District demonstrates a holistic vision for student success - one that strengthens the school while enriching the broader community.
