Multipurpose Room and Kitchen

Project Overview

SGH Architects partnered with Saugus Union School District to design a new 9,000-square-foot multipurpose building at Cedarcreek Elementary School, replacing the school’s aging facility with a modern, functional, and welcoming space.

The design embraces a clean, contemporary aesthetic highlighted by exposed structural steel framing and expansive glass walls that flood the interior with natural light, creating a bright and uplifting environment for students and staff.

A New Campus Hub

The multipurpose room was carefully planned to support a wide range of uses, featuring flexible assembly space that can adapt to school assemblies, performances, and student activities of all sizes.

A new warming kitchen enhances food service operations, while the expanded capacity of the building accommodates larger gatherings than the old facility could support.

Together, these features create a versatile hub for daily campus life.

A Space for Connecting

Beyond its role in supporting the school, the new multipurpose building is also designed as a valuable resource for the broader community.

By providing a modern venue for events and activities, Cedarcreek Elementary now has a space that strengthens the bond between the school and its neighborhood - underscoring the District’s commitment to investing in facilities that serve both students and families for years to come.
