The program serves students with autism, intellectual and learning disabilities, physical disabilities, visual and hearing impairments, chronic medical conditions, and mental health challenges such as anxiety and depression.
Within the new facility, a wide range of assistive technologies and supportive staff create a learning resource hub tailored to individual needs.
Purpose-Built Learning Environments
DSPS counselors, academic advisors, and media specialists now have dedicated spaces to meet with students and provide personalized support.
The 4,000-square-foot building includes nine offices, a conference room, a computer lab, a study room, and a test proctoring room - each thoughtfully designed to accommodate the diverse learning needs of the college’s student community.
A Legacy of Support, Reimagined
Founded in 1988, the DSPS program was previously housed within the Health and Science Building. The new stand-alone facility represents a major step forward, giving the program its own identity and presence on campus.
More than just a building, it stands as a foundation for success, empowering students to thrive as they pursue their educational and personal development.
