Imperial Elementary School Additions and Modernizations Design Concepts

Downey Unified School District selected SGH Architects to plan and design Modernizations and New Building Additions at Imperial Elementary School. This site has seen little in the way of upgrades and not only requires the aging structures to be upgraded to accommodate the District’s vision of transforming their schools into state-of-the-art learning facilities, but also new classroom and support buildings to replace aging relocatable classrooms.

Features being designed at this site will include: state-of-the-art classrooms and flexible lab spaces, new modern library/media center, Administration spaces, Kinder and TK classrooms play areas, outdoor learning spaces, new hardcourt and play areas, parent and bus drop off, and staff and visitor parking.

Conceptual designs created by SGH Architects gave Downey Unified School District a glimpse of Imperial Elementary School’s re-imagined campus, sparking the conversation of future expansion for the school.
